Indescribable

On Thursday 18th January Men's Fellowship is going to pull the curtians, turn out the lights, get the projector fired up, volume cranked full and with popcorn and dorito's watch the DVD of "Indescribable" a message by Louie Giglio!

This is a Christ exalting message;

The heavens are telling the glory of God, and their expanse declares the work of His hands.

Night after night they remind us of just how small we are, and how huge God is.

Looking out into the far reaches of the universe, we find a seemingly infinite expanse of mystery and wonder, intricately fashioned by a God of unfathomable size and power.

Just a glimpse of one of the billions of visible galaxies He has formed resizes us, shrinking us, and the world we call home, to seeming insignificance in an instant.

But as tiny as we may seem, the God who knows every star by name also knows yours, and mine. And in the most stunning rescue imaginable, God sent His Son to this spinning planet we call home--the Creator reconnecting us to Himself with life that never ends.

Indescribable takes us on an image-rich journey through the cosmos, allowing us to peer into God's universe to discover the amazing magnitude of His greatness and grace.
Come and invite your friends along on a Christ centered journey through the cosmos that began with Christ, reflects Him to us even today and ultimately ends with Christ!
It's going to be an amazing night before God!

You may doubt this next statement but indeed we are not even at the centre of earth's own wee portion within the solar system and within the galaxy! God has created us for His glory so let us pursue holiness, walking in the Spirit along the narrow way and growing deeper in our relationship with God that we might view the awesomeness of God in His word; in His creation at sunrise, daytime, sunset, at night, in sun, rain and storms; in the lives of fellow believers. Oh Lord, may we walk worthy of our calling, growing in the knowledge of Your will that in everything we do You get all the glory!

Yeh, this is indeed a fantastic, God uplifting, Christ glorifying message that gives us a better perspective of how BIG this God of ours truly is, and how small we really are!
To refer to Giglio's book "i am not but i know I AM"
i am not the center of the universe
i am not all powerful
i am not in control
i am not all knowing

GOD IS and HE says;
"I AM" to a fallen race that has lost its way and is in need of a saviour and indeed in need of a path to eternal life!
As we search, saying "is there a way, where is it, who is it, who is our helper and deliverer, who is right; God's answer resounds from that burning bush into our day; "I AM"!

just a couple of days to go brothers until another evening of men's fellowship but of late they haven't been 'just another evening of men's fellowship'...of late each gathering together has been amazing! i truly mean what i have just typed - the discussions on a broad range of topics have been open, honest, discussed in grace and together each of us, by the power of the Spirit, are pursuing holiness. some of the most mature believers i know attend men's fellowship (gary, tim, geoff, davy) and it is a privilege to know and count as friends each one of you. let us continue deepening our relationship with God individually and corporately for we all still have an incredibly long way to go along the narrow path. 'indescribable' - wow! i believe the Lord is going to meet with us mightily this thursday evening as we fellowship, marvel at God's creation, share in the breaking of bread and together confidently and with humbleness approach the throne of grace praying in the Name of Jesus for His glory

what a night! oh Lord thank you for meeting each one of us individually and as a fellowship in such a mighty way...oh Lord empty each of us of self...this is not a flippant prayer Lord for i truly desire that You would be glorified in each of our lives and that You would take our vapour-like times on this pale blue dot that everyone in history has ever lived on (including elijah, paul, peter, david brainerd) and mould us Lord - may You mould us into God-glorifying vessels, may we lay hold of the spiritual gift(s) You have given each of us, show us how and help us to cultivate them - use is to our utmost not that we might leave behind our own footprints in time to come for if we are truly living a Christ-centred God-glorifying life we will have taken up the cross and all that will be left behind long after we are gone is the mark of the cross! thank You for meeting us Lord and may we build on last night not looking back to what an amazing night with You it was but may pursue holiness abiding in You in the power of Your Spirit
