Almighty

Between now and the next men's fellowship we are concidering one attribute of God; How He is "Almighty".
Pray through this, consider it before leaving a comment, write on a sheet of paper what it means to you, what this means in general and how it actually affects your life that God is almighty and how it should affect your living, then write a comment on it!

Only a few more days to search the riches and vastness of this aspect of God's character and who He is! We'll restart the New Year on Thurs 4th January.

Father we pray that You might reveal yourself to us in our thoughts of how You are Almighty. That as we think on this aspect of who You are, that we might see more of You, come to a better understanding of how great and glorious you truly are!
Help us to magnify You in this, (not as a microscope makes something small look beg, but as a telescope makes something look more like the size it truly is). We want to see You and Your Son in a more clear way, reveal your "Almightiness" to us that we might respond and say "God, Christ, Spirit; You are Almighty", knowing exactly what is meant by that!
Amen

Hey I was browsing and found an iteresting definition of "Almighty" in dictionary.com;

"having unlimited power; omnipotent, as God."

I thought it interesting that the definition itself uses God to explain this word!
And that another online thesaurus should use words such as;
"Creator, Father in Heaven, God, Heavenly Father, Jehovah, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the all-powerful, Yahweh"

Greek: παντοδύναμος

other words that may expand our understanding of this may include;
absolute, all-powerful, controlling, invincible, mighty, omnipotent, supreme, all-knowing, all-seeing, boundless, celestial, deathless, deific, divine, enduring, eternal, everlasting, godly, heavenly, illimitable, immortal, infinite, omnipresent, omniscient, pervading, enormous, excessive, extreme, great, intense, loud, terrible
